Project Description For this project we studied the ups and downs of our socilazion. we read the boo kmexican white boy to understand the different kinds of agents and targets. We picked a topic to study, so I picked womens rights. We were required to make a maskbased off of our essay. So my mask was painted to look like a face and then I wanted to put so shatterd glass and barbie dolls to repersent how socity is so hard on women. For our exhibtion we wanted to somthing that has never been done before, so we made all of these differnet rooms with differnet topics that work with eachother. It was really fun and a lot of people went through the exhibion several times. If I coould go back to the exhibion I would want to make my room a little bit more refined.
Reflection on the mask project 1. Explain how you grew as a writer in this project. Be specific, go back thourgh your essay to find evidence. I grew in many ways during this project but I think that I grew the most as a writer. I grew as a writer because I really took pride and passion in what I was writing. I really wanted my audience to feel something after reading my essay, I did this by researching things that make me feel sympathetic then taking evidence from that and putting it into my essay. I am definitely not someone who loves to put time into writing especially if it's something that I’m not passionate in. For example even talking about targets and agents I still needed people to get some kind of feeling, “Agents dominate in society while targets are weaker. Targets are normally made up of the women, non white, gay, younger, and disabled. These are important because if we had no agents or targets then our economy would crash.” This passage was suposed to make the
2. What are your largest take-aways from this project and how have they transformed the way you see the world? This could be from any part of the project: the content, the essay and mask, the design thinking process, or the exhibition prep. My largest take away from this project would definitely be the process of the actual mask because I was really passionate about my topic I wanted my mask to be really meaningful and really cool looking. So I got the idea of some glass to make it seem like she was shattered on the inside and the melted barbies were meet to be like the stereotype that girls see from the beginning of their lives. The eyes without the pupils represent how she had not a lot on the inside. This was my largest takeaway because I really wanted to make it personal and connect to its audience. When making my mask I really wanted to sit down listen to music and create. I sat away from all of my friends and peers, I wanted to use my time wisley
3. What were your goals as a group worker (see your 3rd bog entry) and what challenges/success did you have reaching your goals? Make sure to include an example or story that highlights your response. My goals as a group working was to step back and not be the boss for once and this was really effective and helpful because during the exhibition set up I was working a lot harder and I wanted to let someone who's never really been a leader be a leader which was fun for them as well. Not being in charge made it really easy to get work done without people bugging me and asking me what they should next. I was incharge of putting up some of the sheets and the lighting. I remeber the day before the exhibion we were stressing out because we could work on our room untill the day before the exhibion, this was really hard to get everything up in time. if I could do this exhibion again I would ask everyone in my group to do something insead of helping other groups before helping ours. 4.Describe what you did as a group member and how it contributed to the success of our exhibition. Include in your answer how you would grade your effort and why. I think that I did well in our group because I really wanted our room to come alive and to look really fun. I really stuck to my job and wanted to get it done so I could help whoever needed it. While putting up sheets and light I noticed that at least two or three people were goofing off in our group this was super frusterating because we had so little time. I wish that I had told them that I wanted them to help out with everything. I defently think that my group could've done better with our room. If I were to grade myself I would give myself a 95/100 because I think that I really put in the effort that was needed for this project. If I could do somthing better during this project I would ask my whole group to help.
