My Matted Photo
Five Step Critique
Observe: I see an 8 by 11 photograph. This photo is matted with a black matte bored. There is a dog in the lower right corner of the picture walking through some tall grass. There are also a bunch of really colorful trees in the background.
Analyze: In this piece the color of the trees creates balance because the trees are behind the main focal point in the back but they are still super vibrant and this helps balance out the rest of the photo. In this photo the form of the dog helps create perspective in the lower right of the photo. It does this because the dog looks like it os going to come right to you.
Interpret: The mood of this photo is happy and campy. you can tell this by the colors used in the photo like the reds, oranges, and yellows. This helps to lighten the photograph and make the photo more interesting. The message behind this photo is to explore and to adventure. You can tell this because the trees and the grass with the dog in it create a happy and fun image making you want to explore.
Evaluate: I think that this photo is successful because it is very colorful and fun and it makes you want to go explore. I think that this photo could use just a little work on focusing because you can see a couple of plants in the way and there are just some little things that are not in focus that would be a lot cooler if you can focus those.
